Fourth of July is as all-American as you can imagine, topped off with fireworks display at the beach. Gardens burst with color and u-pick farms are ready with strawberries and sweet corn.

One-of-a-kind activities are developed especially for this day and are based upon the Museum's current Fanfare for Summer, Mailed from Maine, and Living Little exhibitions. Brickstore Museum Salon Style exhibition
Salon Style is so named for the stacked display format made popular by private collectors of the 18th and 19th centuries to showcase their works of art. Thirty-two paintings-with many that have not been on public view in years-create an impressive cavalcade of art from the 1830s to the 1920s. Stunning still lifes, idyllic landscapes, and heroic seascapes are interspersed among genre paintings and portraiture of early Kennebunk notables, showcasing the richness of the Museum's permanent collections. Featured artists include Josef Arentz, Thomas Badger, Abbott Fuller Graves, W. L. Metcalf, and Hannah Brown Skeele. Sponsored by our proud Business Partners: Jeffrey A. Bonney, CFP®, Captain Lord Mansion, and Ocean Bank.
